Apple Oatmeal Crumb Cake - Mary Tucker

1 cup flour
1/3 cup regular oats
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup chilled butter
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup apple juice
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 cups chopped peeled McIntosh apples (about 1 apples)

Combine flour and next 5 ingredients.  Cut in butter.  Reserve 1/2 cup of mixture for topping.   Add apple juice, vanilla and egg.  Beat at medium speed till blended.  Fold in chopped apple. 

Put in 8 inch round greased cake pan.  Put on topping.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or till cake springs back when touched lightly in the center.  Cut into 8 servings.
